PDI-P Secretary General Assigns Chair Puan Maharani for Political Safari

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto brought up the task of PDI-P DPP Chair Puan Maharani to conduct a political safari to other parties.

This was conveyed when asked about the planned meeting between Gerindra Party general chairman Prabowo Subianto, PKB general chairman Muhaimin Iskandar and PDI-P general chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.

“Yes, the dialogue process is continuously carried out. Ms. Mega also assigned Ms. Puan Maharani,” Hasto said when met in Jakarta, Saturday (20/5/2023).

Hasto believes that Puan is the right person to communicate politically with party leaders.

This is because Puan is also the chairman of the DPR RI who often communicates with other party factions in parliament. As a result, political communication was considered reasonable by Puan.

“He (Megawati) assigned the Speaker of the DPR who is very skilled at conducting political communication,” said Hasto.

However, PDI-P does not yet know when Puan’s political safari schedule will be in the future.

This is because the PDI-P is now focused on preparing for the implementation of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) which will be held on June 6-8.

“Beyond that, PDI-P is also in the context of evaluating all stages of the nomination of legislative members and also consolidating all levels of the party, in order to win the 2024 election, including the victory of Pak Ganjar Pranowo,” said Hasto.

“So, we will hold a third national working meeting on June 6 to 8,” he said.

For your information, so far there are two party chairmen who plan to meet Megawati, namely Prabowo Subianto and Muhaimin Iskandar.

Prabowo Subianto conveyed this after meeting the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Meanwhile, Muhaimin said the same thing after meeting the 6th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno today.
