Pavlyuk called on Ukrainians to join the ranks of the Armed Forces

While the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back Russian troops along the entire front line, Russia is trying to sow hostility and distrust of the army within the country wrote on Facebook on April 8, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Pavlyuk.

According to him, the Armed Forces do not need equipment, but people. Therefore, he called on Ukrainians to “find the courage to join the ranks of the Armed Forces.”

“I understand people’s desire to live a peaceful life, to travel, to build a career. But there is an objective reality: Russia denies us the right to exist. The enemy understands only the language of force. We have to get him off our land. If we do not do this, there will be no peaceful life, no rights and freedoms at all,” Pavlyuk believes.

The commander of the ground forces noted that “Russian propagandists have made many believe that mobilization is not about protecting one’s country from an aggressor, but about injustice and rights violations.”

Pavlyuk also draws attention to the fact that the summons and updating of data in the Territorial Center of Procurement does not mean sending to the service in the zone of active hostilities the next day.

“All those who were found fit for service, without exception, are sent to training centers. Basic military training lasts a month. This corresponds to the standards of NATO partner countries,” the message reads.

The commander of the ground forces admits that the TCC and military training systems are not perfect, but emphasizes that work is underway to improve them.

“I call on Ukrainians to leave their emotions behind, not to succumb to provocations. We have to realize that no one will be able to sit down. After all, the fate of the country, the fate of our nation is at stake,” Pavlyuk summed up.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that there is no need to mobilize half a million conscripts in Ukraine, but he did not specify the number of people who are planned to be called up.

Zelensky also said that Russia is preparing to mobilize an additional 300,000 troops on June 1, 2024. Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmytro Peskov called Zelensky’s words untrue.

Martial law has been introduced in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, the day of the full-scale invasion of Russia. At the same time, general mobilization was announced. Since then, the Verkhovna Rada regularly extends the terms of martial law and mobilization.
