Patti Smith Acoustic Concert Cancelled Due to Sudden Illness

“With great regret, we inform the kind public that the concert of Patti Smith scheduled for today 12 December 2023 at 9pm at the Teatro Duse in Bologna will not be able to go on stage due to a sudden illness that struck the artist”. The Duse Theater wrote this in a note, adding that it was “all sorry for the inconvenience caused by this news. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go to the artist.”

The artist is on tour in Italy ‘A tour of Italian Days’, a series of acoustic concerts in sacred places and evocative traditional theatres which draw inspiration from the book and which will lead us into a very close, unique and enchanting dialogue between words, music and images. A unique opportunity to listen to the iconic songs that have consecrated the figure of Patti Smith in the firmament of the world musical and artistic scene in a new way. But also the opportunity to meet the artist, author of the book ‘A Book of Days’: a diary, a precious book that collects words and photographs of a special year and at the same time like many others. A Book of Days collects more than 365 shots, ranging from Patti Smith’s old Polaroid archive to photos stolen with her smartphone, to trace the author’s singular aesthetic. Scheduled for Friday 15 December, at 5.30 pm, the singer and writer should be in Milan at the Rizzoli Galleria bookshop (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II) to meet readers and sign copies of her book published by Bompiani.
