Patriots quarterback Cam Newton proved he can still dominate a low-level team last weekend in a win over the Dolphins, but his clash with the Seahawks on Sunday night should offer better prospects on what to expect from him this season.
In his New England debut, Newton had 15 of 19 passes for 155 yards in the air and rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. The Seattle defense presents a tougher test, not only for the former Panthers star, but also for a restructured Patriots team emerging from the Tom Brady era.
The Seahawks, meanwhile, are more confident in their ability to fight this year. They are still at the heart of Russell Wilson’s fabulous run as a leader and clinch a comfortable Week 1 victory over the Falcons.

This, of course, is in tribute to his teammate James White, who tragically lost his father in a car crash today.
