Patrick Kicken: It’s rumbling on Radio 10, Ekdom and Van Someren fall silent on each other

[BLOG] That’s something, too, if your morning and afternoon jock won’t let the light into each other’s eyes. At least that’s what I hear through Hilversum’s famous corridors: Gerard Ekdom (Radio 10 morning show) and Rob van Someren (Radio 10 afternoon show) avoid each other, keep silent and if one is in a meeting, the other cancels. If true, such a thing is obviously disastrous for your team spirit. And once again we can blame (somewhat) the owner of the Talpa radio station, John de Mol.

It is evident that last Tuesday was a pitch black day for ea Talpa Radio: not only did the lawsuit not go as planned (Talpa simply has to bid for the safe next year and still loses a radio station in FM), even the viewing figures released that day brought tears. Both Sky Radio, Radio 538 and Radio 10 lost a lot of money. At 10 plus respectively 0.1% for Sky, 0.3% for 538 and 0.6% (!) for 10. Only Veronica plus 0.4%. The drop in the total in one year for the Talpa Radio group is particularly alarming: 1.3% discount for 538, 0.9% for Sky and 0.4% for 10. And then the new measurement method is yet to arrive .

There’s nothing more disastrous for a radio station than if your morning and afternoon shows don’t work together. Even worse is when they avoid or avoid each other. Who or what is causing this? Have I already talked about this place Planet Ekdom. That man really run his toko with his team within 10, you hear it from everyone. Especially since he’s been back on TV, the gentleman has taken off. In the Today Inside commercial on SBS6, Gerard discovers that it takes more than speaking softly and acting a little tough about how much you know about music to make a successful TV programme. Either way, Mr. sees himself as a star with associated star allure.

And then John de Mol also manages to proclaim Gerard “Ekdom has been on the radio for 30 years” in a stupid boring anniversary. the standard bearer of Radio 10. In terms of his place in programming, it might be, but only one person out of 10 deserves that title and that’s obviously Rob van Someren. He got such a big 10 again, bringing a whole bunch of Veronica listeners to the station with his team when RadioCorp owned the station. And let’s not forget that the witness was also busy on Radio 10 in the early nineties before leaving for TROS. He just breathes the audience and is the best match with them, not Gerard’s fake voice botox and hair prostheses Ekdom, resident of the planet Ekdom.

So stupid of De Mol to say such a thing and stab Gerard even more feathers in the ass. While that morning show of his can really be improved: too predictable. However, the same can also be said of Talpa’s other morning program that doesn’t catch on at all: Wietze on 538. Only Veronica’s morning can be called solid and coherent. Back to Talpa’s (still) Radio 10 cashcow and the apparent falling out between Van Someren and Ekdom. This can also be attributed to the lack of a successor to program leader Ronald Snoeijer. Some Interims are doing it now, but a nice new seasoned station manager (I’ll call one Uunco Cerfontaine) had long since stepped in and dined with both gentlemen at that expensive place in Blaricum, Red Sun. the golden hand of the man who was brought back by Qmusic with much fanfare, Dave Minneboo?!

Even though they talk to each other backstage and this rumor is bullshit, I never hear them talking or each other on the radio. Discuss and encourage him anyway! If you need to, add a few hundred and go watch football in Barcelona with those guys for a weekend. This is killing for your market share and your station – your morning and afternoon show should constantly refer to each other and not act like a piece of cloth in a rag basket that never speaks to one another of the other. It reminds me of a Veronica producer who said ‘we’re not going to do another radio show?!’. Yes oetlul, you work for the same radio station and you really need each other’s help and support.

If disc jockeys are also fighting a cold war among themselves, then it’s priceless. Shut up with such nonsense! Otherwise 10 just after 538 and Sky will be the next station to go to the galleys. One advantage is: So De Mol no longer has to buy expensive FM frequencies for it. Would that be his intention, just to bleed the stations to death? Capital destruction case of having-me-you-there. To quote a Queen song: Mama mia mama mia.
