After a goalless first period, the Czech juniors lost the match in the second half, losing 0:3. In the 25th minute, Lorenzo Canonica opened the scoring in his own weakness, hitting the puck from Stanislav Svozilova and beating Tomáš Suchánek with a backhand bluff.

The eighth team of the August championship postponed to Edmonton then prevailed twice against the semifinalist with numerical advantage. At 31:55, Jeremy Jabola was penalized for having too many players on the ice and in the 37th minute, Louis Robin scored when Martin Ryšavý was in the penalty bench.

In a time of 46:55, the Czech selection also made its mark for the first time, the combination of Eduard Å alé and Tomáš Hamar Jiří Kulich finishing with a numerical lead. In the 53rd minute, in another power play, Matyáš Å apovaliv successfully finished his drive and Rulík’s team leveled. With a minute to go, Kulich hit the post, but 13 seconds before the final siren, the Swiss secured an empty net power play from Brian Zanetti.
