Patricia Paay is not satisfied with the sentence that the distributors of her sex video received on Thursday. In a statement to RTL Boulevard let them know that she thinks the punishment contrasts sharply with her own damage.
Suspects Michel V. and Ernst van der S. were told by the Public Prosecution Service on Thursday what punishment is being demanded against them for sharing a private video of Paay. Michel V. was sentenced to one month in prison, two weeks of which was suspended. Van der S. received a community service of 80 hours. In addition, fines of 200 and 250 euros were demanded.
According to Paay, this contrasts sharply with the business and private consequences she experienced from distributing the film. “Literally destroying someone’s life and existence is therefore not worth much in the eyes of the law”, is her response.
However, the presenter and singer is relieved that a sentence has been imposed at all. “People should know that if you disclose someone else’s private photos or videos without permission, it is a criminal offense and could result in a conviction.”
Paay no longer wants to respond to the video that was distributed on the internet in 2017 and mainly looks to the future.
