Patients hostage employees psychiatric center Antwerp | Abroad

On Thursday evening around 9:30 PM, two nurses were locked in a room. The windows were taped by the three patients. The police then negotiated for hours to release the employees.

The first hostage was released around 1:45 am and the second at 4:30 am. The nurses were not injured.

There are 182 patients with a mental disorder in the center who have committed crimes, but cannot go to prison because of their disorder.
