Pathé refuses to show a documentary about the Member of Parliament of Forum for Democracy Gideon van Meijeren. The cinema chain reports this on Twitter. The premiere would be shown on Monday in the Royal Theater Tuschinski in Amsterdam.

The cinema says:

On March 14, we rented out Koninklijk Theater Tuschinski for a private premiere of two documentaries, one of which is about the FVD MP Gideon van Meieren. We were unable to see these prior to renting out the room. Afterwards we did not ask enough about the content of the documentaries. Visitors & employees have pointed out to us that various statements have been made about the Holocaust that are experienced as very hurtful by Holocaust victims and relatives. In light of the memory of Abraham Tuschinskiz, who was himself murdered during the Holocaust, we do not think it appropriate to show the premiere of this documentary. We have therefore asked the organizer of this event to look for another location. —

The documentary is a conspiracy fantasy by Van Meijeren in which he supposedly finds the answers that he did not get in the House, as can be concluded from the description. Van Meijeren has repeatedly compared the corona policy with the persecution of the Jews in the Second World War. His party is also regularly discredited because of anti-Semitism and his party leader Baudet is a self-proclaimed anti-Semite. During the recently held debate about manners in the House of Representatives, Van Meijeren argued in favor of allowing Holocaust denial. He also said that he should be able to claim – “hypothetically speaking” – that not 6 million, but 300,000 Jews were murdered. A dog whistle for the extreme right-wing supporters, that so-called hypothetical number is not just taken out of thin air, but has been singing around for decades in NSB and SS circles.
