Passenger and Driver Clash on Public Transportation Bus in North Carolina

LAREDO, Texas – A driver and a passenger clashed inside a public transportation bus in North Carolina.

Both were injured and the incident was recorded by security cameras installed on the bus.

The person demanded that the driver stop the vehicle to get off, but the driver insisted that he would stop, but at the next authorized point.

And after arguing for almost two minutes, the passenger drew a firearm and the driver did the same.

The Transportation Company Spokesman said it is still unclear who fired first.

The passenger, identified by authorities as Omarri Shariff Tobías, was shot in the abdomen and the driver named David Fullard was shot in the arm.

Two other passengers traveling in the transport were unharmed.

According to the statement from the public transportation system, both are in stable condition and are expected to recover.

Charlotte police said the passenger was charged with, among other things, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and carrying a concealed firearm.

It is unclear whether charges will be filed against the driver, who was fired by his employer.

The lawyer representing him said that the drivers are exposed to danger and that it is to be expected that they have a way to defend themselves.

The Charlotte public transportation office said it understands that people have the right to protect themselves, but considered that, in its opinion, the incident could have been prevented.
