The mayor’s office of San Miguel, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other institutions, reported that in the next few days the intervention of the eighth west street, in front of the Álvarez field, will begin as part of a project of revitalization of the historic center of Miguel.
Yuriko Salgado, in charge of the municipal social projection area, explained that in the area it has been planned to build a space for coexistence for the population, where people can enjoy healthily and safely.
“We will widen the sidewalk, the stalls will be improved, we will put seats so that people can come to enjoy and have a cultural approach to being a space within the historic center,” he said.
He added that one of the elements that stands out in the area is the architecture of the Prunera portal, which he clarified that it will not be intervened. “Only the street belongs to us, the project will be carried out there to enhance the area,” he commented.
He explained that the work would begin when the remodeling of the playground is completed. Salgado did not give details on the amount of the project.
Previously, USAID delivered the project for the revitalization of the historic center of San Miguel, which includes improving the infrastructure of portals, parks and widening sidewalks, among other works.
