Pascal Periz, singer of the group Pow Wow, is dead

Pascal Perizthe iconic singer and founding member of the group Pow Wow, died at the age of 62. His former comrades announced the sad news, revealing that the artist had ended his life after a years-long battle with depression.

Pow Wow, formed in 1990, distinguished itself by performing songs a cappella, inspired by American doo-wop. We remember that the group reached the peak of its popularity in 1992 with two singles, including the famous “Cat” which was number 1 of the Top 50. This same song won the 1993 Victory for the Original Songhighlighting the talent of Pascal Periz as a composer and principal performer.

A few months after this resounding success, Pow Wow once again won the hearts of the French with a cover of “The lion is dead tonight“, a classic previously performed by Henri Salvador.

The disappearance of Pascal Periz deeply affected his friends in the musical world, including the singer Ahmed Mouiciformer member of Pow Wow, famous for his role as Ramses in the musical “The ten Commandments“. He expressed his sadness and dismay in a moving tribute, highlighting the difficulty of losing a friend, particularly in the media context, recalling the loss of Daniel Lévi last year.
