Party café Lil Kleine suspends collaboration with rapper for the time being, Kingsland Festival cancels performance | show

Party cafe ‘t Lammetje has suspended the ‘promotional activities’ of Lil Kleine for the time being. That is what the owner of the cafe, Leon Poppes, says. Kingsland Festival has canceled three performances of the rapper on King’s Day.

“Feestcafé ‘t Lammetje strongly disapproves of the allegations made against Lil Kleine with regard to the abuse of his girlfriend Jaimie Vaes, as shown on images via the media. ‘t Lammetje is suspending Lil Kleine’s promotional activities with regard to party café ‘t Lammetje until further notice,” Poppes told ANP.

In 2018, the catering entrepreneurs and brothers Leon and Darwin Poppes opened the cafe on the Lange Leidsedwarsstraat, near the Leidseplein. For this they entered into a collaboration with Jorik Scholten, as Lil Kleine is really called. He took on part of the promotion and was seen regularly in the clubhouse. As far as is known, the rapper does not own the business. A year earlier, he opened the snack bar De Belg on Rembrandtplein with friend and entrepreneur Daniel Lam. The rapper does own it.

Violent Incidents

The name of the rapper is still mentioned on the site of the cafe on Monday evening. ‘If you want to throw a party in the center of Amsterdam, you are welcome at ‘t Lammetje, the cafe of Lil ‘Kleine that he opened with his friends’, it reads.

‘T Lammetje is not the only one who pauses the collaboration. The Kingsday Festival Kingsland has canceled Lil Kleine’s show. The rapper would actually perform three times during the event on April 27, in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Groningen. Due to the current circumstances surrounding Lil Kleine, we as an organization have decided to cancel his shows at Kingsland. More information about a replacement program will follow shortly,” the organization of the largest music festival on King’s Day said via Instagram.

Lil Kleine is under fire for various violent incidents. The Public Prosecution Service suspects him of the abuse of his fiancée Vaes. Sony Music announced on Sunday evening that it is ending the working relationship with the rapper shutdown† Previously, record label TopNotch, which until recently collaborated with Lil Kleine, no longer promotes his music.
