Corona incidence in Berlin is easy – only two districts report – BZ Berlin

The corona incidence in Berlin fell slightly at the start of the week. The value was 1105.9 on Monday, according to the Senate situation report. The day before, the incidence was 1111.2.

The incidence indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been shown to have been newly infected with the corona virus in the past seven days.

232 new corona infections (previous day: 2238) were registered in Berlin on Monday. The total number is 692,198. There was no other death. 4,213 people have died in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic from or with the disease caused by the pathogen.

Not all cases count anymore

The federal government’s new test strategy has been in effect since February 12. The following applies: Anyone who wants to have a free PCR test done can only do so if an antigen rapid test previously carried out by a test center was positive.

Anyone who has a red warning in the Corona-Warn-App or has carried out a test with a positive result at home is no longer entitled to a free PCR test. But only PCR tests are included in the statistics.

The situation in the districts

Only two districts provided updated figures on Monday. Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf (+136) and Reinickendorf (+96).

► With the seven-day incidence, seven Berlin districts are currently between 1000 and 2000: the hotspot is currently Treptow-Köpenick with 1614.0. It is followed by Lichtenberg (1595.5), Marzahn_hellersdorf (1360.9) and Steglitz-Zehlendorf with 1330.5.

Five districts report three-digit numbers, Neukölln has the lowest incidence with 780.2.

The status of vaccinations

At the start of the week, the number of vaccinations remained on the data from the weekend: 72.7 percent of Berliners are fully vaccinated. 77.3 percent have been vaccinated at least once. A total of 7,591,367 vaccinations were administered.

In order to include a more meaningful indicator in the Corona traffic light, the relative change in the seven-day incidence was replaced by the hospitalization incidence. The seven-day incidence and the occupancy of the intensive care beds remain unchanged.

According to the management report, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants – equivalent to the seven-day incidence for all of Berlin – is 1105.9 (previous day: 1111.2) – the traffic light is RED.

The seven-day hospitalization incidence is 22.3 (previous day: 22.8) – the traffic light is RED.

This indicator shows how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were hospitalized after a corona infection within a week. The indicator is green when the value is below 4. From 4 the traffic light switches to yellow, at 8 to red.

The utilization of the intensive care beds by corona patients is 14.6 percent (previous day: 14.8 percent) – the traffic light is YELLOW.

The yellow limit here is 5 percent, and this traffic light also turns red at 20 percent.
