Parliament: The phone call about a bomb was a hoax – The roads were opened – 2024-02-21 01:09:38

An alarm was sounded on Saturday afternoon in EL.AS. after a phone call to a television station. Specifically, a woman called ANT1 at 18.30 and said that in 45 minutes a bomb will explode in the Parliament.

Immediately strong police forces rushed to the scene and closed the streets surrounding the Parliament for security reasons. Within a few minutes, a team from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department arrived at the scene, while the Metro trains did not stop at the Syntagma station.

After the investigations carried out it turned out that it was a hoax and shortly after 19.30 the streets around the Parliament were reopened.
