Parkland offers second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Hospital Parkland administers the second booster dose of the covid-19 vaccine starting this week.

The second booster dose is for people who have a weak immune system or for those over 50 years of age who already have both vaccines against covid-19, according to a statement from Parkland hospital.

The doses will be available from Tuesday, April 26 at Community Oriented Primary Care Health Centers. Those who received their booster dose four months ago are eligible for the “third dose.”

You need to make an appointment through MyChart and bring your vaccination card to the consultation. Those who do not have a My Chart account can create one at line or by calling 214-590-7000 between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday to schedule an appointment.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention allow dose combinations for booster shots, meaning patients can choose which type of vaccine they prefer.

Parkland Hospital has several Community Oriented Primary Care health centers throughout Dallas County.
