In the Super-G, the 26-year-old from Radolfzell was eleven hundredths of a second behind on Sunday. Forster also took silver behind Muraoka in the downhill on Saturday. “I’m a bit annoyed with myself,” said Forster: “It was so close and I know I left a lot behind. But hey, it’s a medal, that’s really cool.” She didn’t think it was a good thing that the Super-Kombi was brought forward from Tuesday to Monday due to the expected weather conditions. “I was looking forward to the day off a bit,” said Forster, who has femoral hypoplasia – her thigh is severely shortened, bones are missing in the shin, the right leg is complete: “But we have to stay flexible and I’m ready.”
For the other German women, medals were out of reach on Sunday. In the visually impaired category, Noemi Ristau from Marburg was fifth, in the standing class Anna-Maria Rieder from Murnau also took fifth place, and Andrea Rothfuss (Mitteltal-Obertal) was ninth. “Today I drove like raw eggs,” said Rothfuss, who has won 13 medals in four Paralympics participations so far: “I’ve managed to get at least one medal in all games so far,” said the 32-year-old: ” This time it will be harder than ever. But the dream is still alive.”
