Panthers want to end their opponents’ winning streaks

1. BundesligaGiroLive-Panthers Osnabrück

The GiroLive-Panthers Osnabrück are challenged twice this weekend: On Friday (7.30 p.m.) the team of Aleksandar Cuic receives the Herner TC, on Sunday (4 p.m.) the flippo Baskets from Göttingen are guests.

First of all, the 2019 champions will be in OSC Hall A. Herne (9: 3) is third in the table of the Toyota DBBL, one place ahead of Osnabrück (7: 5). The guests arrive with the confidence of five wins in a row, the last defeat was on December 12th against leaders Keltern (66:70).

The Panthers will fondly remember the first leg on November 28th. Thanks to a furious race to catch up in the second half, Melina Knopp & Co. won with 68:62 in the end. AeRianna Harris caused Osnabrück the most problems (21 points).

Loryn Goodwin and Jelena Vucetic weren’t part of the first duel. Goodwin had a promising debut against Hannover at the weekend with 15 points, Vucetic has established herself as the top scorer of the deep and balanced HTC team after six games (12.7).

Göttingen (6: 5 balance) has recently won four times in a row and worked its way up to 5th place. The start of this series was the 93:73 win against Osnabrück on December 23rd. Samantha Roscoe (23 points) and Jennifer Crowder (20, plus 19 assists) had led the strong hosts, where six players scored double-digit points. In January there were victories against Saarlouis, in Nördlingen and against Halle. Before the Lower Saxony derby on Sunday, the flippo Baskets have to compete against Keltern on Wednesday evening.

With two wins, the Panthers could establish themselves in the top 4 of the DBBL. The home balance is so far 4: 2, with a win being the rated game against Marburg
