Pancasila Youth Leader Questioned by Police for Chaos in DPR Tomorrow

The police scheduled an examination of two high-ranking officials Youth of Pancasila (PP) related to the demonstration that ended in chaos in front of the DPR building some time ago.

The two PP officials are the Secretary General of the PP National Leadership Council Arif Rahman and the Chair of the East Jakarta PP MPC Norman Silitonga. Both will be examined on Monday (13/12) tomorrow.

“Yes, that’s right (two PP officials will be questioned tomorrow),” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E Zulpan when confirmed, Sunday (12/12).

However, Zulpan has not disclosed the information that will be explored by the investigators of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya in the investigation.

On Thursday (25/11), the Pancasila Youth Organization held an action to urge PDIP politician Junimart Girsang to apologize for his statement which was considered to have cornered the PP. The action was held in front of the House of Representatives. The demonstration turned violent and was eventually disbanded by the authorities.

During the demonstration, the Head of Ops Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Dermawan Karosekali also became a victim of beatings by the mass of action. The police have named 15 PP members as suspects because they were caught carrying sharp weapons during the demonstration. They are subject to Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951.

In addition, six other PP members were also named as suspects for beating police officers. The six were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code and or Article 212 of the Criminal Code and or Article 216 of the Criminal Code and or Article 218 of the Criminal Code.

Zulpan previously also said that the police would summon the person in charge of the PP mass demonstrations in the aftermath of the riots.

“We want to ask for accountability that resulted in today’s demonstrations, namely riots and anarchic actions,” he said, Thursday (25/11).
