Chairman of the PAN Honorary Board Soetrisno Bachir request that the cadres be realistic with their parties after the departure of senior politicians Amien Rais to another party.
“Because we have to be realistic looking at our party until now, our party founder and our leader, Pak Amien Rais, are already outside our party. That’s a fact we have to accept,” he said, in his speech at the celebration of the 23rd PAN Anniversary which held virtually, Monday (23/8).
It is known that Amien Rais was one of the founders and the first general chairman of PAN which was founded on August 23, 1998. Amien claimed to have been expelled from PAN in 2020. However, PAN denied it.
Amien Rais has now formed the Ummah Party and occupies the Head of the Syuro Council.
Furthermore, Sutrisno hopes that the cadres can also learn from the figure of Amien Rais even though he is no longer with PAN. He also made sure to try to grow PAN during the current leadership period of Ketum Zulkifli Hasan.
He also hopes that the program and political work of PAN until 2024 can be stated in detail. These programs, he said, could become PAN’s strength and capital after the Amien period.
“Precisely now it is possible that what I convey is a lesson, with us now there is no charismatic figure like Amien Rais, that [program-program] So our strength is running this party,” he said.
Previously, PAN chairman Zulkifli Hasan targeted to win 60 seats in the DPR in the 2024 election, up from the 2019 election with 44 seats.
