Kabul

Government Pakistan threatens to forcibly expel more than 1 million illegal immigrants Afghanistan which is now in his territory. Taliban who is now in power in Afghanistan, gave a strong reaction, calling the threats made by Islamabad unacceptable.

As reported ReutersWednesday (4/10/2023), Pakistan’s interim government estimates that there are around 1.73 million Afghan immigrants living in Pakistan without clear legal status.

Islamabad has set a November 1 deadline for para illegal immigrants from Afghanistan to leave Pakistan voluntarily or face forced expulsion.

“Pakistan’s behavior towards Afghan refugees is unacceptable,” said the spokesman for the Taliban government in Kabul, Zabihullah Mujahid, in a statement via social media X, previously known as Twitter.

To help justify the crackdown on illegal immigrants, Pakistani Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti accused Afghan nationals of carrying out 14 of the total of 24 suicide bomb attacks on Pakistani territory so far this year.

A Taliban spokesman categorically denied the accusations. Mujahid even stated that Afghan immigrants could not be blamed for security problems in Pakistan.

“The Pakistani side must reconsider its plans. Afghan refugees are not involved in Pakistan’s security problems. As long as they leave Pakistan voluntarily, the country must tolerate them,” he said.
