Paid Rp1 Billion To Be A Police Academy cadet, Turns Out He Was Fooled by Special Staff of Wantannas Fake

SURABAYA, KOMPAS.TVThe case of fraud under the guise of selection for the 2021 Police Academy or Police Academy cadet admissions in East Java was uncovered.

It was the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the East Java Police who uncovered the fraud case.

Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, said that his party had arrested a suspect in this case.

The perpetrator is known to be a resident of Surabaya, East Java, with the initials HNA. To the victims, the 40-year-old man claimed to be a special staff at the National Resilience Council (Wantannas).

Because of his confession, a number of victims believed in the lure of suspects who could pass to become cadets of the Police Academy.

However, with the condition that the victim must deposit a certain amount of money to the suspect as collateral in order to pass the selection.

“This suspect also confessed to the victim that he was a member of the special staff (stafsus) at the National Resilience Council (Wantannas),” said Gatot at the East Java Police Headquarters, Friday (10/22/2021).

In fact, Kombes Gatot confirmed that the perpetrators of the HNA were not special staff of Wantannas.
