Paco Johansen replaces Per-Mathias Högmo as head coach for Häcken.

Pål Arne “Paco” Johansen most recently comes from Norwegian Odd, which he led as head coach for two seasons.
Before that, he coached several Norwegian youth teams and Polish Legia Warsaw, but then as an assistant.
– I am a calm coach who is very interested in football players. I have a hard time with the status quo and am keen to always want to be better. I am analytical in the way I approach football and modern in the way I both train and lead, says Paco Johansen to Häckens website.
“Triggers me”
Häcken played Europa League group games during the autumn and, with this year’s third place in the Allsvenskan, secured a qualifying spot for next year’s edition of the Europa Conference League.
– When BK Häcken came to me and said that we should challenge in Europe, it is something that triggers me. And that the club wants the same with the academy, men’s and women’s teams triggers me even more. I have got a fantastic impression of a club that is clear that it is brave, that dares to set new goals and is not satisfied, but that wants to move on and develop every day, says Johansen.
– We are happy that we managed to agree on a future together with Paco. He is an offensive coach who is very tactically trained. It is also a coach who understands what we have built up over the last few years and who also sees the challenge of taking us further on that journey. We want to continue to be established at the top of Swedish football and also work long-term and forward with our football philosophy, says sporting director Martin Ericsson.
Paco Johansen replaces Per-Mathias Högmo who left Häcken for the Japanese top team Urawa Red Diamonds earlier in December.
