Oviedo is the safest municipality in Spain, after overtaking Tenerife in the ranking, which is relegated to second place. This is indicated by the so-called “Security Barometer” prepared by the company Securitas Direct after analyzing 1.7 million homes and businesses. The study combines the jumps of the alarms and the registered intrusions.
Salamanca, Burgos, Santander, Córdoba and Vitoria also appear in the top positions of the classification. The company calls for reinforcing the protection of homes during the summer, a time of high risk. That is why they advise not to leave the windows open, to check the state of the locks, not to publish information about vacations or outings on social networks.
According to data from the report, all the municipalities that are in the first places of the ranking have “an intrusion ratio” of less than 1.2%. In fact, the percentage of Oviedo is just half: 0.6%.
