OVERVIEW. Can I still travel to France without a third shot? These are the rules | To travel

Unlike last year, you can ski in the French ski areas this winter. They just open. Although it will be more difficult for unvaccinated people. The third shot can also cause problems. We list the most important corona rules.

Do I have to be in isolation after arriving in France?

If you can present a vaccination certificate, no isolation is necessary. For unvaccinated persons aged 12 years or older, a negative PCR test or negative antigen test of less than 24 hours old required for entry into France. Even then, insulation is not necessary. This measure has been further tightened from November 29, because previously a test of 72 hours before departure was sufficient.

Where should I wear a mask?

A mask is mandatory from the age of 12 in all public areas, on public transport, in crowded places, in taxis, restaurants, bars and cafes. Wearing a mouth mask is also mandatory in the ski lifts and in the queues for those lifts.

Where do I have to show my corona pass?

This summer, the ‘pass sanitaire’, also known as the ‘EU digital COVID certificate’, has been strictly implemented in France. In practice, you must therefore show your Covid Safe Ticket in, for example, a restaurant. Just like with us, the pass is valid with full vaccination.

A negative test is also sufficient, although that negative PCR test or antigen test may be repeated not be older than 24 hours. That means you will have to have a test every day if not vaccinated.

Furthermore, a green pass can also be presented with a recovery certificate (at least 15 days old and not older than 6 months).

The French government sets a limit of 200 infections per 100,000. When this is reached, the presentation of a valid corona pass is mandatory for the use of the ski lifts and regular checks will be made upon boarding. Meanwhile, numbers are rising in France and showing a pass at the elevator is mandatory, as confirmed by the French health minister.

For the other places of recreation (cafés, cinemas, museums…) the French national rules apply. To date, a corona pass is requested at these places in France (from 12 years and two months).

Can I still travel to France without a third shot?

France is also tightening the rules for vaccinated people. Everyone will have to take a booster shot, otherwise the ‘pass sanitary’ will expire.

• From December 15, persons older than 65 years or persons vaccinated with the Janssen vaccine must have received their booster shot in order to present a valid health card in France.

• Who a Janssen vaccine received before May 15, must prove to have received a second booster dose in the meantime.

• From 15 January this applies to all adults and any vaccine. Six months after the second vaccine, an additional shot must be given to maintain the health pass.

The timing of the vaccinations and the holiday must therefore be kept in mind, otherwise the holiday may fall into the water.
