Not only meteorologically, but also in terms of calendar, autumn is now officially here. Before the cozy season starts, the FCA football school can look back on an eventful summer.

The FCA football school organized a total of 37 holiday camps at various locations in Swabia and Allgäu this year and also paid visits to the neighboring state of Baden-Württemberg and the Austrian Pitztal. 1,704 children were able to experience football, fun and action with FC Augsburg for a week. 69 coaches were in action, offering the young players two training units a day on various basic techniques such as dribbling, passing and shooting at goal.
The final tournament on Friday, which was held as a small European championship, went really well. Battle cries such as “Germany ahead, another goal!” Or “Spain, Spain, Spain” echoed across the pitch and in the breaks between the games, it was diligently calculated with what result the progression to the next round could succeed.

Another highlight was at every camp around lunchtime, because 14 different FCA professionals took the time to switch live from the press conference room of the WWK ARENA to the various sports centers via video call. Felix Uduokhai, Niklas Dorsch, Raphael Framberger and Co. patiently answered curious questions about the everyday life of a football professional, their favorite food or the ultimate dilemma “Messi or Ronaldo?” And were then long a topic of conversation with the children.

Aprops kids – boys with the first name Max were represented the most this summer. In addition, 78 girls also took part in the events, including the exclusive girls’ camp at the NLZ. The number 7 on the back of FCA striker Florian Niederlechner was the most popular among all participants, and jerseys in children’s size M were flocked most frequently. And even if the summer wasn’t the hottest, around 11,600 liters of water were still consumed!
