A total of 15.86 million euros have been paid in state support for pellets, chip briquettes, firewood, as well as used electricity and diesel fuel or liquefied petroleum gas fuel for households, informs Edžus Žeiris, director of SIA “ZZ Dats” and developer of “epakalpojumi.lv”.
Since October 2022, a total of 256,000 applications have been received from households, including 119,000 applications submitted in person to the municipality, and 137,000 registered on the portal “epakalpojumi.lv” for the support of the reduction of the extraordinary increase in the prices of energy resources.
Žeiris states that households have actively used the opportunity to register to support the reduction of the extraordinary increase in the prices of energy resources, including that a great deal of activity was observed already from the first day of registration.
The most popular form of support was a one-time support payment of EUR 60 for firewood used for heating in the absence of a receipt. The collected data show that applications for a one-time payment of 60 euros for firewood used for heating without a receipt made up 86.8% or 222,000 of all applications.
On the other hand, for the support of other fuels, a document confirming payment had to be submitted, so the number of applications for the purchase of pellets, chip briquettes was 6.6% or 17,000, and for electricity used for heating – 5% or 12,000 applications.
On the other hand, applications from households that bought firewood with a check made up 0.7% – a total of 1913 such applications were received. The fewest applications were from households that use diesel fuel for heating – 0.4% or 1126, as well as for gas used for heating – 0.4% or 903.
The most applications for compensation of the increase in the price of electricity used for home heating were received in Riga – 15,977, followed by Rēzekne district – 10,274 and Tukuma district – 9,899 applications. On the other hand, the most active support registrants on the portal “epakalpojumi.lv” were from the municipalities of Mārupe, Ropaži, Olaine, Salaspils, Ādaži, Alūksne and Liepāja.
Data on support measures for households were collected on June 9 for the period from October 1, 2022.
May was the last month when residents, by attaching documents confirming the transaction, could still submit applications for compensation for the increase in the price of electricity, diesel or liquefied petroleum gas fuels used for home heating. You could apply for household support for heating pellets, chip briquettes, firewood by submitting a document confirming payment until April 30, and for firewood without a receipt – until November 30, 2022.
We have already reported that from October 1, 2022, residents could apply to the “epakalpojumi.lv” portal for the support measures for households included in the law on measures to reduce the extraordinary increase in energy prices in the winter season.
Applying for support measures on the portal was possible for those who use pellets or briquettes, firewood, as well as electricity for heating, if its monthly consumption is more than 500 kilowatt hours (kWh).
