Over 1.5 Million People in Baden-Württemberg Embrace Germany Ticket Subscription

So far, around 385,000 new subscriptions have been taken out in the Baden-Württemberg network tariffs, as the state Ministry of Transport announced based on preliminary figures. However, the numbers developed differently within the associations, the ministry said. The associations with a very strong increase in sales figures are therefore also contrasted with transport associations with below-average growth rates in sales. Overall, sales figures developed very well. The Ministry of Transport did not have subscription data from the previous year for comparison.

Transport Minister Winfried Hermann (Greens) said that the figures showed that the Deutschlandticket was a great success and a real benefit – for local public transport and for the transport transition as a whole. “I am extremely positively surprised that so many people use the D-Ticket,” said Hermann. The data underlined the clear trend that more and more people wanted to use public transport.

The Deutschlandticket for 49 euros per month has been available since May 1st last year – available as a digitally bookable, monthly-cancellable subscription. Since then, passengers no longer have to worry about different zones or fare ranges: it entitles them to travel on all local and regional buses and trains nationwide.
