More and more smart home cameras are getting compatibility with Apple’s HomeKit. Somfy has now also updated its outdoor camera with this function after the Somfy indoor cameras have been compatible since 2019.
With HomeKit, the outdoor camera can be used in many automations with other HomeKit devices. For example, when the camera detects motion.
To integrate the Somfy outdoor camera into HomeKit, the QR code from the Somfy app is required. It is important that the camera and smartphone are in the same WiFi network during integration.
You need the QR code of the outdoor camera from the Somfy Protect app. Select the “Settings” item in the Somfy Protect App menu. Here you will find the “Apple Homekit” function. If you select this you will find the listed products. Select the desired Somfy outdoor camera and the QR code for Apple Homekit appears. You can now save or print this out in your photo gallery.
