Outbreak of Bacterial Infections 3,245 People in China, Caused Leakage of Biopharmaceutical Factory

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Thousands of people in the northwest China has tested positive for a bacterial disease.

The Lanzhou Health Commission, the capital of Gansu Province, confirmed 3,245 people had contracted brucellosis.

Another 1,401 people have tested positive for initial symptoms, although no fatalities have been reported.

In total, the authorities tested 21,847 people out of the city’s 2.9 million inhabitants.

Reported CNNbrucellosis is also known as Maltese fever or Mediterranean fever.

Brucellosis has symptoms such as headache, muscle aches, fever, and fatigue.

While these symptoms may subside, according to the CDC, some symptoms may become chronic or won’t go away.

Some of these symptoms such as arthritis or swelling of certain organs.

According to the CDC, human-to-human transmission is extremely rare.

Conversely, most people become infected by eating contaminated food or inhaling bacteria.
