The tragic event took place after 02.00 on the night of August 22-23 in the McDonald’s franchise restaurant at ul. May 3 in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. – According to the reports received, a 31-year-old woman was performing her duties in the cold room. At some point, in unexplained circumstances, the shelf with products overturned, which pressed the woman – says Asp. Beata Grubner from the Ostrowiec police in an interview with the “Naostro.info” portal. – It was a fairly large bookcase about 10 meters by 1.60 meters – explains the spokeswoman.
She adds that the injured woman was found by a coworker after about 10 minutes. Despite immediate resuscitation, she could not be saved. – All activities were undertaken in the restaurant under the supervision of the prosecutor. A representative of the Labor Inspectorate was also present. At the moment, the circumstances of this event are being clarified – concludes Beata Grubner. The restaurant remains closed until further notice. The “Naostro.info” portal asked the McDonald’s press office for a comment. We quote the answer in full:

We are in constant contact with the family, employees, restaurant team and the franchisee and we make every effort to provide help and support in this difficult situation. Everyone will receive psychological support from us. The safety of employees and visitors is our priority. Immediately after the incident, the appropriate services were called to restoration to secure the scene of the accident and investigate the incident. Additionally, a special commission started to establish the causes of the accident. We cooperate with the relevant authorities. Due to the process of the procedure, the restaurant remains closed. The decision on the date of reopening the restaurant has not been made yet. Please understand the gravity of the situation and respect the suffering of the family and other restaurant employees. ”
