After 561 days of closures and restrictions, many people pulled out in the fine autumn weather in Oslo on Saturday night.

– I think reopening is great as there are many who have suffered, Jeanette Rosenvinge tells Nettavisen.

Together with her husband, Arve Rosenvinge, she has sat down with friends Øyvind Berge and Bjørn Stormyhr at Aker Brygge to enjoy good company and something good in the glass.

Although the reopening does not mean that the pandemic is over, they believe that it is deserved to feel the joy of free rein again.

– I think it is deserved because we have learned a lot and most are vaccinated, Jeanette Rosenvinge points out.

Also on Sørenga a little further east in Oslo, many took the trip to enjoy a restriction-free society. Sisters Lise-Lotte Mathiesen, Silje Bekkevold and Rose-Marie Semb also had another good reason to celebrate extra Saturday night.

– We will celebrate my 40th birthday. So we get to celebrate both it and the reopening, explains Silje Bekkevold.

There was a light mood at the Government’s press conference on Friday afternoon:
