Organ music and horror cinema classics evening will take place in Ventspils on All Saints’ Day / Article / LSM.lv

Continuing the tradition started last year, an evening of organ music and silent cinema will take place on October 31 or All Saints’ Day in Ventspils, in the concert hall “Latvija”, the organizers informed.

In the concert, the British organist Richard Hills will create an original soundtrack for the horror film classic – the film “Doctor Caligari’s Cabinet” made by director Robert Vienna in 1920.

According to the representatives of the concert hall, Richard Hill is recognized as one of the few musicians who is able to combine two worlds of organ music – classical and dramatic.

Currently, Richard Hill successfully combines a solo career, Baroque continuous playing, choir training and teaching, while also being St. Organist of Mary’s Central London Parish. The artist has received prizes and awards both in his native Great Britain and in the USA, where in 2010 he was recognized as the “Organist of the Year” by the American Theater Organ Society.
