Orenburg region prepares for a flu epidemic

At one of the briefings, Health Minister Tatyana Savinova announced special precautions this fall due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the annual flu epidemic. This year in the Orenburg region at the expense of the federal budget it is planned to vaccinate against influenza 989 thousand people – 332 thousand children and 657 thousand adults. This is 50.4% of the total population. Citizens who are at risk receive the vaccine free of charge. The list includes children, students, service workers, transport, health care, education and utilities, as well as pregnant women, retirees over 60 and conscripts. Risk groups are planned to be covered with vaccinations by 93.1%, including the child population by 84.9% (organized children attending kindergartens and schools will be covered by 90.0%), the adult population by 97.8%.

According to the Ministry of Health of Russia, the first delivery of the vaccine to the Orenburg region will be made in the third decade of August in the amount of 239,365 doses for adults (36.7% of the declared amount) and 44,258 doses for children and pregnant women (12% of the declared amount).
