Shakhtar became the first finalist of the Ukrainian Cup this season. However, the match was more remembered not for the game or goals of Sudakov, but for the scandalous refereeing of the main referee of the match, Viktor Kopievsky, who at the end of the first half, with the score 1:1, awarded a very controversial penalty against Chernomorets, thanks to which the Pitmen again took the lead.
But this was not yet an evening in terms of controversial decisions from Kopievsky. In the second half of the match, for some reason the referee did not show a warning to Bondarenko, who made a tackle on Avagimyan with his straight leg. The episode with the foul, which led to a red card, ended in nothing – the Shakhtar player was still dissatisfied that this violation of the rules was recorded at all.
As a result, Shakhtar achieved victory under the scandalous refereeing of Kopievsky.
