Oprescu, at the hospital after two hours spent with his girlfriend in custody

She is only 35 years old, but she looks like a woman over 40. The upsets have left deep marks on Adriana Nica’s face. The doctor has not found peace since Sorin Oprescu (63 years old) was arrested. Dressed simply, with a pair of black pants and a leather jacket, the girlfriend of the suspended mayor of Bucharest came to see her chosen one, who is in the Central Detention Center of the Capital Police.

Her head was down, her hair unpainted, her eyes weeping, a sign that she had been suffering a lot since she was left alone. For almost two hours she was able to hold her husband’s hand and comfort him.

There can be no question of privacy, because in pre-trial detention there are no conjugal rooms, as in penitentiaries, where convicts can have sex with their girlfriends or wives once a month. The doctor from the University Hospital is so mentally collapsed that she is no longer able to drive. If once she could be seen behind the wheel of a Porsche Cayenne given as a gift by Oprescu, now the driver is walking her. During the visit, the woman got out of an old Mercedes, a sign that she is no longer going to show off her opulence. She also went home with him, from where she did not leave all day. Since being handcuffed, Adriana has been able to see her boyfriend three times. The first time on September 16, in custody, ten days after he was detained, on September 26, when the mayor was hospitalized at the University Hospital and on October 7, also in custody. Little, given that the two have a stable relationship for years and spent a lot of time together.

However, Sorin Oprescu managed to keep her away from the eyes of the world. He came alone to social events and never mentioned that he was a man of obligations. Everything was revealed only after he was arrested, and Adriana appeared at the Central Detention Center.

Back in the hospital after visiting the woman he is in love with

Sorin Oprescu was taken, yesterday, around 17.00, from the Central Detention Center of the Capital Police to the Alexandru Trestioreanu Oncological Institute. He lives alone in a reserve, in Intensive Care, and today they will do a scintigraphy (investigation that detects tumors). A doctor consulted him in custody and recommended performing oncological tests. Sorin Oprescu’s lawyers were talking, at the end of last week, about new ailments discovered during the last medical investigations made at the University Hospital. They said there were 12 diseases that doctors did not know about until now. In addition to diabetes and a cardiovascular disease, which Sorin Oprescu knew about, lawyers said he was at risk of developing lung cancer because investigations showed a lung nodule. On the other hand, Oprescu finds out today if he will remain in custody for another 30 days. The appeal against this extension will be judged at the Court of Appeal. On September 26, the suspended mayor was hospitalized at the University Hospital for four days. He was in a reserve and was investigated, including a coronary angiography. Doctors determined that the man was feeling well and did not need to stay in the hospital longer. (Oana Neacșu)

Caught with the bribe received at the villa in Ciolpani

The suspended mayor was handcuffed on September 6 for bribery. Investigators caught him immediately after he took possession of the money, while leaving the house in Ciolpani. They found 5,000 euros in their pockets, marked money, which they claim comes from a bribe of 25,000 euros. Oprescu never admitted that he got his hands on unpaid money and said that the amount was given to him on loan. Investigators are talking about a million euro bribe, taken in recent years, but also about a jamming device that the suspended mayor had in the house, just so that it cannot be intercepted when discussing the bribe.
