JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian foldable phone market finally has a new player. This is because Oppo officially launched its newest device called Oppo Find N2 Flip at Cinema XXI Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (10/5/2023) evening.
Previously, Oppo had launched the Oppo Find N and Find N2 folding phones, as well as the Find N2 Flip first in the Chinese market.
Chief Marketing Officer of Oppo Indonesia, Patrick Owen explained why the Find N2 Flip was chosen as the first foldable screen phone to be brought to Indonesia.

“The presence of Oppo Find N2 Flip starts a new era for Oppo in Indonesia, and we are very excited to be able to set a new standard for folding phones in Indonesia,” Patrick explained to the media crew.
“For us, a folding cellphone must excel in four things, namely intuitive and easy-to-use design, a screen that has minimal indentations, strong resistance and a large battery, and all of this is answered by Find N2 Flip,” added Patrick.
In terms of formation or form factor, this smartphone carries a clamshell-style folding screen model, aka clamshell. That way, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is arguably the only direct competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from Samsung.
Compared to its competitors, Oppo Find N2 Flip is equipped with a number of advantages. One thing that is striking is the secondary screen which is located on the back of the device, or it can be called the Cover Screen, with a larger size.
The Cover Screen for Oppo’s newest folding phone carries an AMOLED panel with a size of 3.26 inches, larger than the Cover Screen for Samsung’s folding cellphone which has a size of 1.9 inches.
Apart from being wider, the Cover Screen for Oppo folding phones also adopts a portrait orientation instead of landscape. So, the tiny Oppo Find N2 Flip screen can display more content from the Galaxy Z Flip 4 when it is in folded condition or mode.

Oppo also said that the Cover Screen on its newest folding cellphone can be used for various things, such as taking selfies using the rear camera, replying to WhatsApp messages, playing songs from Spotify, and many more.
Still a matter of screen, the Oppo Find N2 Flip carries an Ultra Thin Glass main screen which has an LTPO AMOLED panel type with a size of 6.8 inches, Full HD Plus resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a brightness level of up to 1,600 nits.

Oppo claims that the main screen of this newest cellphone has fainter fold marks than competitors’ folding phones. According to Oppo, this is possible thanks to the new hinge construction which adopts a waterdrop-like shape.
In addition to being able to disguise folds or creases, a hinge like this is also claimed to be able to strengthen the overall fold structure of the Oppo Find N2 Flip, as well as minimize the gaps that exist on the main screen near the hinge when it is folded.
In terms of resilience, Oppo claims that its newest hinge design also allows this newest folding cellphone to be opened and closed or folded 400,000 times, or 10 years if the user opens and closes 100 times a day.

The main screen display of the Oppo Find N2 Flip can still be seen clearly in the hot sun.
In addition to the screen that is claimed to be qualified, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is also equipped with photography features that are no less neat.
This folding cellphone is equipped with two rear cameras arranged vertically to the left of the Cover Screen, as well as a front camera that is loaded in a punch hole module.
The two rear cameras on this phone each have a resolution of 50 MP (f/1.8, Sony IMX890) and 8 MP (f/2.2, Sony IMX355, ultrawide), while the front camera of this phone has a resolution of 32 MP (f/2.4, Sony IMX709).
To improve the photographic experience and photo quality, the Oppo Find N2 Flip camera line is also combined with the AI chip alias NPU MariSilicon X and Hasselblad camera lens technology.

The presence of MariSilicon X allows this folding camera to be used to improve the quality of photos in low light conditions, as well as record 4K Ultra Night Video and 4K Ultra HDR Video with clear quality.
Meanwhile Hasselblad technology allows the Oppo Find N2 Flip camera software to come with several additional features a la Hasselblad camera manufacturers, one of which is Hasselblad Professional Mode for manual mode ala DSLR cameras.

Oppo Find N2 Flip’s rear camera view, which amounts to two. This camera is located to the left of the secondary screen of the folding phone.
Turning to the performance sector, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset (3.2 GHz), which is combined with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage media with a capacity of 256 GB.
This folding cellphone is supported by a battery that is quite large in its class, namely with a capacity of 4,300 mAh, with support for 44W SuperVOOC charging speeds.

With a battery this big, Oppo claims that its newest cellphone is strong for up to 20 hours to play YouTube videos, 16 hours to browse social media, and 6 hours to make WhatsApp video calls.
When the power runs out, the 44W SuperVOOC technology is claimed to be able to charge the Oppo Find N2 Flip by 50 percent in about 23 minutes, and 100 percent in one hour.
“Oppo Find N2 Flip is a folding cellphone that has the largest capacity battery on the Indonesian market which is strong enough to accompany users all day,” said Head of Public Relations for Oppo Indonesia, Baskoro Adiwiyono on the same occasion.
Other supporting features on the Oppo Find N2 Flip include the Android 13 operating system (OS) which is polished with the ColorOS 13 interface (UI), Dolby Atmos Dual Speakers, Side-Mounted Fingerprint Scanner, 5G, NFC, and many more.

The left, bottom and top frames of the Oppo Find N2 Flip are folded. On the left frame there are no buttons or any holes, while on the top frame there is a microphone hole, and on the bottom frame there is a USB-C connector, speaker hole, to the SIM card drawer.
Oppo Find N2 Flip has dimensions of 166.2 x 75.2 x 7.45 mm when unfolded, dimensions 85.5 x 75.2 x 16 mm when folded, and weighs up to 191 grams.
In Indonesia, this cellphone comes with two color variants, namely Astral Black (black) and Moonlit Purple (purple violet), and is sold at IDR 14,999,000.
This phone can be purchased offline at the Oppo Store, Oppo Brand Store, and all official Oppo partner stores in Indonesia, while online orders can be made via the Oppo Online Store website and application as well as several Oppo e-commerce partners in Indonesia.
