All kinds of fresh food supplied to Hong Kong from the mainland has always been the protagonist on the table of Hong Kong citizens. Previously, fresh food such as chilled and frozen meat, eggs, milk, fruits and vegetables could only be supplied to Hong Kong through the Shenzhen-Hong Kong port. The relevant person in charge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Customs Supervision Section of Gongbei Customs introduced: “The bridge port has 24 hours of uninterrupted customs clearance throughout the year, which fully meets the characteristics of fresh and live food’s transportation timeliness and general customs clearance at night.” The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge supplies Hong Kong with a full range of mainland fresh food, which will further enrich the category of fresh food supplied to Hong Kong.
The Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the main port of departure for fresh aquatic products and chilled poultry meat supplied to Hong Kong from the west bank of the Pearl River. From June 22, 2022 to the present, the mainland exported 11,563.7 tons of frozen and chilled poultry meat through the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, worth 290 million yuan.
