Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the UN General Assembly
Turkey once again supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Ankara does not recognize the “accession” of Crimea to Russia.
Ankara is in favor of maintaining the territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not consider the entry of Crimea into the Russian Federation valid. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking before the UN General Assembly in New York, writes Interfax-Ukraine.
“We attach importance to the protection of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, including Crimea, the annexation of which we do not recognize,” Erdogan said.
Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that “elections” in Crimea are illegal… Ankara refuses to recognize the Russian “elections” on the peninsula because it considers its annexation illegal.
We also wrote on the meeting in New York of Presidents Erdogan and Vladimir Zelensky… The heads of state discussed the humanitarian situation in Crimea, economic topics and issues of military cooperation.
