The city of Colomiers opened a Covid-19 vaccination center on Monday, January 18. About twenty people have already been vaccinated.
Vaccination centers are starting to be deployed in Haute-Garonne. Yesterday, a new one opened its doors in Colomiers, the second city of the department. Medically managed by the Territorial Professional Health Community of Colomiers, with logistical and technical support from the municipality, the vaccination center will initially be open Monday to Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. within the Capitany Sports Complex. The honorary mayor first vaccinated
About twenty people were vaccinated as of Monday, January 18 in Colomiers. Symbolically, the first of them was Bernard Sicard, honorary mayor of the city, aged 78. “Although considered vulnerable with regard to Covid-19, many people are still reluctant to use this vaccine today. Like the vaccination of nationally recognized people, it seemed interesting to us at the local level that Mr. Bernard Sicard could be vaccinated, because he benefits by our side from an aura of the population ”, explains Karine Traval-Michelet , Mayor of Colomiers and Vice-President of Toulouse Métropole.
Complete conversion of the old consultation center
Installed in place of the Covid-19 consultation center, which closed its doors on Friday January 15, 2021, the vaccination center required a complete reorganization and additional resources, financed by the city: purchase of refrigerators, guarding day and night , management of medical waste, cleaning of the premises and provision of two administrative assistants.
