Opel has announced the return of the Frontera name – it will happen in 2024 in the form of an all-new SUV model.
The new Frontera, which will be presented later this year, will be a cheerful car with smart functional elements. It will also showcase Opel’s crisp and clean design philosophy in a powerful new interpretation and will be the German brand’s first production model to be adorned with the new Opel Blitz badge. The new Frontera will be available as an electric car from the start.

The new Opel Frontera will be characterized by high capacity and versatility, so it will appeal to customers with an active lifestyle and families. The newcomer will continue Opel’s long tradition of offering affordable mobility to a wide range of customers.
Following the debut of the electric Frontera and the introduction of the all-electric version of the next-generation Grandland, also due this year, every Opel model family will have at least one electric car. This will mark a major milestone in the transformation of the Risselsheim brand into an all-electric brand.
Opel’s wide range of electric vehicles currently includes the Rocks Electric light quad, Corsa Electric, Mokka Electric, Astra Electric and Astra Sports Tourer Electric, as well as the new passenger Combo Electric and the Zafira Electric minibus. Fully electric versions are already available for the entire Opel commercial vehicle portfolio, which consists of the new Combo Electric, the new Vivaro Electric and the new Movano Electric.
Opel is currently consistently implementing an electrification strategy to ensure sustainable success and meet customer demands for future mobility. By 2024, every Opel model will also have an electrified version. Starting in 2028, Opel will focus entirely on electric vehicles in Europe.
