MEXICO CITY (appro).– The World Health Organization (WHO) recommended applying booster vaccines against the coronavirus 12 months after its last booster, only to groups at risk.
Modifying his recommendations on vaccines yesterday, he indicated that they all have a time limit and apply only to the current epidemiological scenario.

“However, maximizing this effectiveness against hospitalizations, severe cases, and mortality necessarily requires people to take all the recommended doses. And this is especially important for people who are in priority groups, ”he said at a press conference in Geneva, after a new wave of misinformation about covid-19 in the media and on social networks.
He also named young people with significant comorbidities, such as diabetes or heart disease, people who are immunosuppressed and pregnant. He recalled that his expert committee did not recommend the vaccine for people of “medium risk.”
Children and adolescents are of low priority. In addition, he urged countries to take the disease burden into account before recommending vaccination of this group.
