All applicants at the basic level will have a guaranteed place in public schools in Baja California Sur; pre-registration will be available in February

La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). From February 2 to 28, the online pre-registration system will be available on the website of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP); will be implemented online to meet security measures for the pandemic, said the head of the agency in Baja California Sur, Gustavo Cruz Chavez.
“The school where they are enrolled will depend on the places available, as well as the criteria established by the Education Law. […] first of all, that they prove that they have siblings enrolled in the school; secondly, that they live within the sector ”, he commented.

In the third criterion, it will be checked that the mothers, fathers or guardians work in the area where the school is located and finally the spaces that are available will be assigned when the first 3 are exhausted, he explained Cruz Chavez.
Therefore, a meeting was held with the president of the State Association of Parents, Óscar Montaño Ojeda, where he was informed about the advantages offered by the pre-registration system in an unprecedented way.
Pre-registration can be done from a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet access or through the number 800 737 22 72, added the owner of SEP in Baja California Sur.
“Spaces are guaranteed for all applicants to enter public pre-school, primary and secondary schools, in the 2021-2022 school year,” said the educational authority.
Finally, the measure was implemented in response to security strategies due to the COVID-19 pandemic and as a sign of sensitivity to a requirement that society demanded for sanitary conditions.
