The most affected region is the Plzeň-sever district, where over 42 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants have been added in the last seven days.

It is followed by the Klatovy and Frýdek-Místek regions with approximately 32 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last week. In the capital, for every 100,000 people, there are less than 30 infected in the last seven days, similar to the Uherské Hradiště region.

Prague and Frýdek-Místek higher risk

Prague and the Frýdek-Místek district continue to be the only regions that are marked in green on the map of the Ministry of Health, signaling the occurrence of the disease without transmitting the disease in the community. Other regions of the Czech Republic are white, ie with zero or negligible risk.

The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) announced on Monday that in the Czech Republic it will be mandatory to cover the nose and mouth indoors again, such as shopping centers and post offices, in public transport or in schools outside the classrooms, from Tuesday, September 1.

The measure is intended to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus after the start of the school year, which brings with it more frequent people-to-people contacts and travel. From next week, the rules for quarantine and isolation will change.
