OnePlus is working on its first foldable smartphone, which may be announced next month. Rumors about the name of the smartphone have surfaced before, but according to new reports, the smartphone will be given a different name than previously thought.
The first foldable smartphone gets according to tech-nice Max Jambor the name ‘OnePlus Open’. That is striking, because according to previous rumors, OnePlus would choose the name ‘OnePlus Fold V’. It is possible that this was originally intended, but that OnePlus later decided to choose a more original name that is not so similar to that of the competition.
Other names that OnePlus had in mind, according to the source, are Edge, Peak, Wing and Prime. In the end, however, the manufacturer would have chosen the name Open. OnePlus itself has not revealed any details yet, but the official introduction of the “OnePlus Open” is expected to take place in August.
