OnePlus now even behind Samsung?

Despite the low prices, OnePlus has always annoyed the competition in the past, but the big names have come back all the more recently.

In recent years, OnePlus has not only been able to challenge the major manufacturers in some categories, but even leave them behind. This included the speed of software and hardware in combination. The general system performance could put devices from Samsung and Co. in their place, many negligence had crept in here with established manufacturers for many years. But that seems to be turning again, at least a current comparison should be able to demonstrate.

Video shows comparison of OnePlus 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

The colleagues from Phonebuff compared the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with the OnePlus 8 Pro. Either you watch the video directly or find out the result through us.

In the first round with the cold start of the numerous apps, the victory went a little more clearly to the Samsung smartphone. In the second round, in which apps that are already open are more likely to be retrieved from memory, the OnePlus smartphone narrowly won the comparison. The bottom line is that Samsung wins this comparison, which might not have been expected.

Samsung with noticeable development

For comparison: Last year the OnePlus smartphone won both rounds against the then flagship Samsung. So something has happened at Samsung, which is of course very gratifying.

The only catch: This year the American model of the Galaxy S20 Ultra was tested, which also has a Snapdragon 865 processor and not the Exynos 990 processor as here. Since the market launch, there has been plenty of criticism for the Samsung processor because of this chip’s speed and energy efficiency is lacking.
