OnePlus 8 (Pro): Top smartphone without a competitive price

The new cell phones are on par with the competition – also in terms of price.

The OnePlus smartphones were long regarded as real flagship killers. They offered very good equipment for a small price. But the price advantage has been in recent years got smaller and smaller
. And with the new flagship, the OnePlus 8 (Pro), the manufacturer has finally penetrated into the regions of the top models from Samsung, Huawei, Sony and LG. Since the new smartphone is technically on par with the competition, there is nothing wrong with that. The new OnePlus models are no longer just a flagship killer.

When it comes to equipment, the OnePlus 8 Pro draws on everything. The focal point is the 6.8-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels (QHD +) and 120 Hz technology. The display extends almost over the entire front and is only interrupted by a small hole for the front camera. Qualcomm’s current top chip Snapdragon 865 with an additional 5G modem is used as the drive. The RAM is 8 or 12 GB. Customers can choose 128 or 256 GB for storage space. Unfortunately, there is no expansion option via microSD cards. Positive: The 4510 mAh battery can finally be charged wirelessly. And OnePlus has also eliminated the second point of criticism: The top smartphone now meets the IP68 standard. The camera equipment is also impressive. Specifically, the setup looks like this: 48 MP main camera (f / 1.78), 8 MP triple camera (f / 2.44), 48 MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f / 2.2) and 5 MP ToF sensor.

The OnePlus 8 has to bake slightly smaller rolls, but is still a top device. Processor and memory sizes are identical to the Pro model. 5G is also on board. But there are also some differences. The manufacturer uses a 6.55-inch display with a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz. The battery has a capacity of 4,300 mAh. Wireless charging and IP68 certificate are also missing. The resolution of the triple camera is 48 + 12 + 2 MP. The normal OnePlus 8 has to do without an ultra wide-angle lens.
