– The National Institute of Health of Peru announced on the 11th (local time) that it has suspended clinical trials of the Sinofam Corona 19 vaccine in China. This is because one participant had symptoms of arm paralysis.
According to AFP, the clinical trial was halted because one participant was unable to move his arm due to’Gilang-Barre syndrome’. Guillain-Barre syndrome is a disease in which the peripheral nerves are inflamed, causing pain and paralysis in the limbs.
In Peru, a clinical trial of the sinofam vaccine has been conducted on about 12,000 people. It was originally scheduled to release the results of the clinical trial this week.
China’s Sinofam Corona 19 vaccine is conducting clinical trials in more than 60,000 people in Argentina, Russia, and Saudi Arabia along with Peru. Sinopharm’s earlier said, “There are more than 1 million people who have been vaccinated with our vaccine so far, and there have been no side effects.”
