Riga, August 17, LETA. On Sunday, one new case of Covid-19 was registered in Latvia, performing a total of 888 tests, according to data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

The information available to the SPKC indicates that the patient was another previously infected contact person.

So far, a total of 226,524 examinations for Covid-19 have been performed in Latvia, and 1323 persons have been diagnosed with the disease, of whom 1,078 or 81.5% have recovered.

So far, 32 persons with Covid-19 or 2.4% of detected infections have died in Latvia.

One new Covid-19 patient was hospitalized in the last 24 hours. Currently, five patients are treated in hospitals, all of whom have a moderate course of the disease. To date, 198 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals, including both those who have recovered and those who have died.
