On Friday, a message was sent to all parents about the infection situation at the school.

There, the principal informs that 113 children, ie one in four students at Ila primary school in Trondheim, are corona infected.

“I see that most kids have mild symptoms / no symptoms. That’s good to know. Several also warn me that the kids are on their way out of isolation will come to school next week », writes principal Trude Mathiesen.

The students are tested regularly, and quick tests have been sent out to everyone. In addition, the general infection control councils apply, but the municipality does not believe it is necessary to introduce other measures.

– This is also the recommendation from FHI, which Trondheim municipality follows. At schools where several pupils are diagnosed with infection, regular testing is introduced at the current school, writes municipal head of school, Jannicke Aksle, in an SMS to VG.

She adds that new measures may be considered.

– The Presidency will decide on Tuesday. It is understandable that family members in risk groups may be concerned, but the municipality follows NIPH’s advice for residents in these groups.

This is the development of infection in Trondheim now:

Rector: – Concerned that the infection is increasing so fast

To VG, the principal says that the school has a close dialogue with parents and the infection control office.

– Are you worried about the high infection rates?

– It is clear that it is worrying that the infection is increasing so fast, at the same time I am very happy that it is not a serious disease, says Mathiesen.

– The students can take the infection home to family members in the risk group, what do you want to say to those who are worried about it?

– We have handed out quick tests to everyone, and when the students get a registered infection, they notify both the infection office and their GP. Then it is the GP who guides and gives further advice.

– So you do not see it as necessary to introduce other measures than regular testing?

– This is discussed at municipal level, and the municipal director has not recommended it, the principal answers.
